Ashley’s Bio

Ashley is an executive producer, producer, and industry leader in extended reality (XR) storytelling. He believes immersive content can transform the world for the better by bringing human beings closer to one another in emotive and thought-provoking experiences.

Once an MTV and live music television producer, he founded East City Films in 2006 - a successful London-based production company dedicated to producing purpose-driven storytelling in film, VR and AR.

Ashley is an experienced filmmaker, exec producing and producing brand films for companies such as Lexus, Coca-Cola and Sony. He is an authority on VR and AR storytelling having delivered some of the most celebrated pieces of work in this new medium from critically acclaimed VR documentaries (In Pursuit of Repetitive Beats, Common Ground, Indefinite, Witness 360: 7/7, Junior) to immersive sports content (Arsenal FC, Southampton FC, Grand National, Chris Eubank Jr) and charity experiences (Comic Relief, British Heart Foundation, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy). In 2023 he executive produced 3 VR films for the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center. He believes in XR's power to communicate a message, engendering empathy and understanding in minutes, and visualises a bright future for the technology.

With 15 years behind him running East City Films, delivering award-winning content, and documentaries, Ashley is determined to see his company develop along very clear lines – driving quality, purpose-driven storytelling for media owners, brands, charities, museums, exhibitions, and the metaverse.

Ashley is on the non-executive advisory group for the Foundation for Future London, a charity focused on connecting East London communities, the new East Bank and its globally renowned arts, innovation and cultural partners.
