We are delighted to share that Letters From Drancy has been awarded Best VR Experience at the B3 Festival of the Moving Image 2024.
The B3 Festival, known for celebrating boundary-pushing storytelling across film, art, and digital media, recognised Letters From Drancy for its deep emotional impact and innovative use of immersive technology.
Directed by Darren Emerson, the VR documentary tells the powerful story of Marion Deichmann, who as a child was separated from her mother and forced into hiding. Through a combination of 360 video, animation, interaction and spatial audio, Letters From Drancy allows audiences to step into Marion’s memories and experience her journey of survival.
Winning Best VR Experience at B3 is a huge honour, as this festival champions cutting-edge digital storytelling and the future of immersive media. This award affirms our belief that VR is one of the most powerful ways to connect audiences with the past—and to make history deeply personal.
A heartfelt thank you to the B3 Festival jury, our partners at the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center, and most importantly, to Marion Deichmann, whose bravery and willingness to share her story have made this project possible.
