Photogrammetry production at East City Films

Photogrammetry

With photogrammetry, East City Films are able to create photo-real 3D environments which work perfectly in Unity and Unreal. Hundreds of photos of a location are taken and stitched together to enable the most lifelike rendering of a space which can then be explored and interacted with in virtual or augmented reality. We are specialists in the technique and regularly implement it in our VR work, be it in documentary or architectural visualisations.

Going through Autodesk's Recap or Capturing Reality's Reality Capture we are able to create a mesh from hundreds of photos, which can then be exported and textured as a 3D model in software such as 3D Studio Max or Cinema 4D. From here the optimised 3D model can be integrated into a Unity or Unreal workflow, ultimately giving us the tools for a photo-realistic room-scale VR experience.

If you’ve got an interesting project which might involve photogrammetry in mind, we’d love to hear from you.
