'Common Ground' nominated for a Broadcast Digital Award

Common Ground - Broadcast Awards 2020 nominee
Aylesbury resident Anthony Badu in Common Ground

The team at East City Films are proud to announce that our VR documentary Common Ground has been nominated for Best VR Experience at this year’s Broadcast Digital Awards. This follows the awards from World Press Photo, Sandbox Immersive Festival and Cinema Nouveau. Thanks as ever to Creative XR and StoryFutures who funded the film, and all the crew that had a part in creating this splendid and important piece of work.

Thanks so much to the team at Broadcast Digital Awards for supporting Common Ground. The Best VR Experience category puts us in great company and we’re grateful that such a prestigious nomination gives our documentary about the Aylesbury housing estate and its inhabitants a wider potential audience.
— Darren Emerson - Director & CCO, East City Films

This is our second nomination at the Broadcast Digital Awards, following our Best VR Experience nod for Malaria: Life On The Frontline for Comic Relief.

This year’s winners will be announced at a virtual ceremony on 14th October. Wish us luck, we’re up against some pretty stiff competition.
