Letters from Drancy Makes Its Highly Anticipated UK Premiere at the London Film Festival
We're thrilled to announce the UK premiere of "Letters from Drancy," an enthralling Virtual Reality documentary that takes you deep into the heart of the Holocaust through the eyes of survivor Marion Deichmann. Produced by East City Films in partnership with the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center, the film will be showcased from October 6th to 22nd at the Bargehouse at the BFI London Film Festival.
The film captures the evocative story of Marion Deichmann’s audacious journey across Nazi-occupied Northern Europe. From her anguishing separation from her mother to her daring escape facilitated by the French Resistance, Marion's narrative is both gut-wrenching and inspiring. Above all, it stands as a testament to the human capacity for love, courage, and resilience in the face of unthinkable adversity.
This is not merely a film; it's a passionate commitment to keep the lessons of history alive. As the pool of living Holocaust survivors dwindles, it's imperative that their stories are not just remembered but felt. This film provides an intimate, immersive experience that allows audiences to deeply connect with Marion's lived experiences.
The project is brought to life under the direction of Darren Emerson, Co-Founder and Creative Director at East City Films. Collaborating with technological and creative talents like All Seeing Eye and Transmission TX, the film is a technological masterpiece that promises a seamless and deeply impactful VR experience.
Special gratitude goes to Marion Deichmann for bravely revisiting her traumatic past to give us the film's narrative. Acknowledgments are also due to Kelley Szany, Bernard Cherkasov, and the entire team at the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center for their invaluable insights and unwavering support.
While "Letters from Drancy" is a significant milestone, it's just the beginning of East City Films' journey to explore stories that resonate globally through the power of VR. The aim is to go beyond mere storytelling, providing audiences with experiences that are deeply engaging and emotionally resonant.
Don't miss the chance to experience "Letters from Drancy" at its UK premiere at the London Film Festival. It's more than a film—it's an emotional, immersive experience that challenges, educates, and inspires. The UK premiere follows its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival and precedes its showcase at the Illinois Holocaust Museum in October. We're eagerly looking forward to sharing this meaningful journey with you.
