East City Films specialises in world class 360 video production

360° Video Production

We are one of the leading 360° video production companies in the UK having won multiple awards for our work since 2015. We have been nominated at the VR Awards in the Best Social Impact VR category for the last 3 years.

We started working in 360° video when we answered a call from Pearson Education to create a VR experience for their training needs. We quickly understood that this medium had the potential to be the next great platform for storytelling - its unique ability to put people inside a video rather than adjacent to it opened our eyes to huge possibilities; so we embarked on becoming a leading 360 video agency and production company.

East City Films quickly became known as one of the foremost producers of 360° VR, creating live-action 360 video content for brands, broadcasters, businesses and also producing our own award-winning documentaries. With clients such as the BBC, ITV, MTV, Lexus, Diageo, Beam Suntory, the National Theatre, the Old Vic Theatre and British Heart Foundation, as well as official selections at Tribeca, Sheffield Doc Fest, Venice, Vancouver, Melbourne and Montreal film festivals our high-quality work has been pushing the boundaries of 360 degree filmmaking since 2015.

We are filmmakers at heart so approach our 360° video production with a camera and sound first mentality. Technically our 360° filming is second to none. We use the best 360 video cameras (from bespoke rigs to the GoPro Max), always keeping up with developments and making sure the right camera is used on any given shot. We shoot both monoscopic (2D) and stereoscopic (2D) creating VR films which are as immersive as possible.

To achieve graceful and dynamic movement in our 360 films we regularly work with drones, remote-controlled dollies, wires and MOCap rigs. We capture spatial sound, using some of the best sound designers and engineers in London and use composers that understand the immersive medium. We have in-house 360 video post-production facilities from which we deliver optimal quality on realistic budgets. We partner with some of the best VFX houses in Europe.

Virtual Reality can take many guises but East City Films is busiest and most experienced at creating immersive experiences rooted in 360 degree video. Watchable in any VR headset for the most immersive experience, these VR videos can also be enjoyed on YouTube 360° and Facebook 360° for far greater reach. We also provide app development should you wish to integrate the 360 video into an app-based viewer experience.
